About

The Comox Valley Friends of Refugees (CVFR) is a volunteer run charity organization operating in the Comox Valley. The CVFR is a branch of the East Kootenay Friends of Refugees Society that is a registered charity, registered society, and a Sponsorship Agreement Holder group which means that we have an agreement with the Federal government allowing us to privately sponsor refugees.

Currently we have been focusing on bringing in refugees from Eritrea and have had great success helping these individuals get settled, find jobs, and register for classes. Read more about why we chose Eritrea and the founding of the CVFR here.

We are 100% volunteer run and all funds collected are used for the sponsorship of refugees to the Comox Valley.
